The Georgia Trust for Local News is a community newspaper company that serves Middle and South Georgia. We are dedicated to strengthening community newspapers across our state, fostering local engagement, and building stronger, more connected communities. The Georgia Trust for Local News is a subsidiary of the National Trust for Local News (NTLN), a nonprofit committed to conserving, transforming and sustaining vibrant, sustainable community news enterprises across the country.

The Georgia Trust for Local News believes that a well-informed community is the bedrock of a vibrant and connected society. Our mission is to empower the residents of Georgia through dedicated community journalism that is impartial, timely and relevant. Our newspapers celebrate the uniqueness of Georgia communities, highlight local issues and achievements, and inform civic participation. Our approach is rooted in a belief in the power of community news to strengthen the connections between people and the places they live. By shining a light on the stories that matter most to our residents, we aim to foster a more informed and connected Georgia.

DuBose Porter

DuBose Porter is the Executive Director of the Georgia Trust for Local News. A longtime publisher based in Dublin, Ga., Porter is the former president of the Georgia Press Association and has a deep knowledge of the strengths and challenges facing newspapers across rural areas of the state. He brings a lifelong career in publishing and public service to the role, including as publisher of the Dublin Courier-Herald Group and former member of the Georgia House of Representatives (1982 - 2011). Porter was a charter board member and continues to serve on the board of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation.

Pam Burney

Pam Burney is the General Manager of the Georgia Trust for Local News. Burney brings more than 30 years of experience in operations, human resources, advertising, and product development to the Georgia Trust. Prior to this role, Burney served as advertising director and general manager with Dublin Courier Herald Publishing Co. She has been recognized with numerous awards in the highly competitive Georgia Press Association Newspaper Advertising Contest.​
